My story

We're taking part in The Big Lent Walk, please sponsor us!

We want to make sure we put the fun into fundraising so Mr Lobb has set the children 3 challenges….
Challenge 1) Carry out a virtual pilgrimage as part of the Jubilee Year as pilgrims of hope around all 9 jubilee churches in the diocese of Nottingham. This virtual route takes in churches in Leicester, Lincoln and Nottingham – and will end at St Mary’s church in Derby.
This is a total of 211miles. Key Stage 2 classes will be aiming to do this distance as a class; EYFS and KS1 as the 3 classes (for KS2 this works out about 1 lap of the field per child every day for the time of Lent we are in school). If they succeed – they will be rewarded with an additional playtime for their class/ phase.
Challenge 2) As a school, carry out a virtual pilgrimage to the Jubilee Door at the Vatican – this is an extra 200miles as a school (1411miles in total). If they succeed - the whole school will be rewarded with a non-uniform day during the last week of term.
Challenge 3) Raise £1000 for Cafod. If they succeed – Mr Lobb will dress as a chicken and walk to St Mary’s church in Derby (the jubilee church for our area) to deliver the money to Mr Grattidge/ Cafod on 4th April. I will send regular photos and updates to school on my journey – dressed a chicken!! Miss Woodings will join me on this journey – dressed as an egg!
Please support this fundraising as you can. If every child in the school gets 5 people to sponsor them £1 – we will get very close to the target….
Thank you in advance for your support with this.

Your donations can change lives. Every £1 raised through the Big Lent Walk will help fight poverty globally in countries like Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan.
